Here at Aruba we love to support local charities as much as possible and for 2019 we have chosen Julia's House as our charity of the year to support.
Julia’s House is a local charity based across Dorset and Wiltshire dedicated to offering practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, it prides itself on offering not just care for the child but also support for them, whether it be at the child’s home, in the hospice or out in the community on organised trips and events. Julia’s house was set up in memory of Julia Perks, a paediatric nurse whose dream was to create a place just like Julia’s house. Although Julia’s House is named after Julia Perks, it was her friend Mike Wise who in 2003 founded the charity after Julia sadly died of cancer. Julia’s House provides imperative care for families and children when they need it most making life that bit easier when it is at its hardest.
Being an independent local company here at Aruba we are always looking for ways which we can give back to the community and help with charities and cases which are important to us and feel we could aid in some way, Julia’s House being one of these. Whether it be a regular donation or a one-off event we are continuously looking for new ways which we can support them.
Starting in January 2019 we will be donating 50p from every kids’ meal purchased with the option to donate an additional £1. Keep an eye out for our events throughout the year which you can get involved with.
